Class Description
Ashtanga yoga is a vigorous, ordered style of yoga. Each pose is held for five breaths, and the same group of poses is practiced in each class depending on the series (primary, intermediate, etc.). Levels one and two are based on the primary series; they are condensed into the most appropriate poses for the class and modifications are offered when appropriate. Expect a challenge!
Level Two
90 minutes; builds on the fundamentals of the level one in terms of class length, intensity/endurance, posture complexity. The student should understand the importance of a steady breath and have a familiarity of the order of poses.
Mysore
90+minutes; this class is appropriate for experienced yogis wanting time/space to practice on their own and students who want personal attention as they learn/master the various series.
Unlike a traditional yoga class, Mamaste pre-natal yoga focuses on preparing the mind and body for labor, delivery and motherhood. We use a carefully crafted system of yoga postures, strengthening and awareness exercises, and meditation and relaxation techniques to create a safe and balanced practice.
